Lexof Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children, including those affecting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. Give Lexof Oral Suspension to your child orally, preferably at a fixed time, either before or after meals. In case your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with meals. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, your child's age, and body weight, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor.
Lexof Oral Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA.These defects hamper the multiplication of the bacteria and affect its survival as well.It kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment
What if I give too much of Lexof Oral Suspension by mistake?
Giving an extra dose of Lexof Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you think you have given too much to your child, immediately contact a doctor. Overdose may result in unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregular heart rhythms). Rush to your child's doctor at once if you notice any of these symptoms.
What should I do if my child shows no improvement even after taking Lexof Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration?
If your child does not improve after taking Lexof Oral Suspension as prescribed, it may mean that the medicine is ineffective against the bacteria causing their illness. In such a case, visit your child's doctor, who may prescribe a different antibiotic that specifically targets those bacteria. It's important to note that some antibiotics are administered intravenously (IV) in a hospital setting if oral administration is not possible.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Lexof Oral Suspension?
Lexof Oral Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Lexof Oral Suspension. Always consult your child's doctor before administering any medicine to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Lexof Oral Suspension?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a negative reaction. However, children on antibiotics should not be vaccinated until they are recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, they can receive the vaccine.
What should I tell the doctor before giving Lexof Oral Suspension to my child?
Inform the doctor if your child has a history of heart disease, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (sunlight allergy), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because there's a potential for Lexof Oral Suspension to worsen these conditions and lead to complications.

- Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics
- Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Lexof Oral Suspension
- Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect
- Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions
- Discontinue Lexof Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lexof Oral Suspension.
Breastfeed
Lexof Oral Suspension is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Lexof Oral Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby.
