What is Levoxol Syrup?
Levoxol Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is prescribed to treat coughs with excess mucus. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic agent, thinning and loosening the mucus (phlegm) for easier cough-out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and widens airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of mucus and facilitates its removal from the airways.
Is Levoxol Syrup safe to use?
Levoxol Syrup can be safely used in most patients. However, some may experience common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reaction, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps and increased heart rate. Consult your doctor if you experience any persistent problems.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with Levoxol Syrup?
Levoxol Syrup should not be used by patients who are allergic to any of its active or inactive ingredients. Combining Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol is generally avoided.
Can Levoxol Syrup cause dizziness?

Yes, Levoxol Syrup can cause diarrhea. If experiencing diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids. Consult your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice any dehydration symptoms such as dark-colored or strong-smelling urine with reduced urination.
