Lenofect 5mg Capsule belongs to a group of medicines that affect how your immune system works. It is used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome. Lenofect 5mg Capsule can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
Lenofect 5mg Capsule is an anti-cancer medication. It works by enhancing the immune system that indirectly attacks the cancer cells. It prevents the growth of new blood vessels within the tumor. It also restricts the production of chemical messengers (cytokine and growth factor) which are responsible for the growth of cancer cells. This is how it works against cancer.

Yes, Lenofect 5mg Capsule is administered after a dialysis session for patients undergoing dialysis. Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on individual patient needs and medical conditions.
What are the side effects of Lenofect 5mg Capsule?
Possible side effects include diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, weakness, dizziness, taste disturbances, and a burning sensation in the mouth. Other potential adverse reactions may include decreased sense of touch, tingling or numbness in hands/feet, difficulty sleeping, depression, joint/muscle/bone/back pain, sweating, dry skin, abnormal hair growth in women, uncontrollable shaking of body parts, decreased sexual desire or ability, and painful, frequent, or urgent urination. Report any severe symptoms to your doctor.
Can Lenofect 5mg Capsule cause cancer?
People with multiple myeloma (a type of cancer that begins in plasma cells) who receive melphalan (chemotherapy) and a blood stem cell transplant alongside Lenofect 5mg Capsule have an increased risk of developing new cancers. These may include certain blood cancers (acute myelogenous leukemia or AML) and Hodgkin lymphoma. Discuss your individual risk with your doctor.
Do I need to get blood tests done while on Lenofect 5mg Capsule?
Your doctor will schedule pre-treatment blood tests and ongoing weekly tests for the first 8 weeks of treatment. You may continue receiving blood tests every month after treatment with Lenofect 5mg Capsule ends, as this medication can impact white blood cell count and clotting.
Do I need to use birth control methods while using Lenofect 5mg Capsule?
Women of reproductive age must use two forms of contraception for four weeks before starting Lenofect 5mg Capsule. Continue with these contraceptives throughout treatment and during any temporary dosage breaks, and for a further four weeks after your final dose. Men who are taking Lenofect 5mg Capsule may have the medication in their semen while on treatment. Therefore, men must use latex condoms every time they engage in sexual contact, including during periods when there is no need to take this medication.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Lenofect 5mg Capsule may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Lenofect 5mg Capsule. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Lenofect 5mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Lenofect 5mg Capsule is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
