Lampa-M Oral Suspension is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Lampa-M Oral Suspension is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Lampa-M Oral Suspension contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Should I administer cough and allergy medications together for my child, who experiences a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, potentially leading to serious side effects.
Can I adjust the dose of Lampa-M Oral Suspension by myself if my child starts feeling better?
No. Adhere to the dosage as prescribed by your child's doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose independently, as this can negatively impact your child's health. While increasing the dose may lead to unwanted side effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly could result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.
How should Lampa-M Oral Suspension be stored?
Lampa-M Oral Suspension must be kept at room temperature in a dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. It is essential to store all medications out of children's reach and sight to prevent accidental intake.
Can Lampa-M Oral Suspension make my child drowsy?
Lampa-M Oral Suspension causes mild drowsiness, which can make your child sleepy. However, it should never be used to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorders like insomnia.
My child is an athlete and must participate in a sports event in the next two days. Can I start using Lampa-M Oral Suspension?
No, do not begin Lampa-M Oral Suspension without consulting your child's doctor first. Additionally, this medication can impair performance by causing mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. Therefore, consult your child’s doctor before starting treatment.
Can I stop using the medicine on my own?
No, it is essential to stop Lampa-M Oral Suspension gradually under the guidance of your child's doctor. Stopping abruptly may trigger a rebound effect with a return of symptoms.
My child has mood disorders and I want to start using Lampa-M Oral Suspension. Is this safe?
Lampa-M Oral Suspension can potentially cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulty controlling body movements. It is crucial to consult your child's doctor before giving any medication.
Can I use Lampa-M Oral Suspension to treat acute asthma attacks in my child?
Lampa-M Oral Suspension is intended for long-term prevention of asthma attacks. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already begun. Use your child's reliever medication instead for acute attacks.
Lampa-M Oral Suspension should be used as directed by the doctor. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully and not to stop the medication without consulting the doctor.
