Lactifiber Granules is a combination medicine used in the treatment of constipation. It works by softening the stools that help in the easy passage of stools. Lactifiber Granules is a combination of lactitol monohydrate and ispaghula. Lactitol monohydrate works by increasing peristalsis (contractions) in the colon leading to an increase in the number of bowel movements. Ispaghula Husk works by absorbing water and increasing stool volume making it softer and easier to pass out.
How should Lactifiber Granules be taken?
Take Lactifiber Granules exactly as your doctor tells you to or as directed on the package. Pour a scoop of granules (15g) into a glass of water (about 150 ml), stir well, and then drink the liquid as soon as possible.
Are there any contraindications for using Lactifiber Granules?
Lactifiber Granules may not be suitable for patients with known allergies to any of its components or excipients. Its use is also advised against in individuals with chronic constipation or intestinal obstruction.
What are the instructions for storing and disposing of Lactifiber Granules?
Keep this medicine in its original container, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions on the package label or as mentioned there. Do not dispose of the unused medication down the drain or in a regular waste bin. Ensure that it is not consumed by pets, children, and other people.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Empty the granules in a glass of water/milk, stir it and consume immediately. Lactifiber Granules is to be taken with food.
- Eat more fiber in your diet. Recommended daily intake is 20-35g
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day
- Exercise regularly at least 3 times per week
- Do not hold in stool as that can worsen bowel issues
