Introduction

Insuform 1 Tablet SR belongs to a category of medicines known as anti-diabetic drugs. It is a combination of two medicines, Glimepiride and Metformin, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Glimepiride increases insulin release from the pancreas, while Metformin lowers glucose production in the liver, delays glucose absorption from the intestines, and increases the body's sensitivity to insulin. This combination helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. However, it may cause side effects such as hypoglycemia, especially when used with other antidiabetic medicines or alcohol. It is important to monitor blood sugar levels regularly and consult a doctor if any severe symptoms occur.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Insuform 1 Tablet SR is to be taken with food.

Insuform 1 Tablet SR is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone. Continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Insuform 1 Tablet SR. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal. Inform your doctor about your diabetes treatment if you are due to have surgery under a general anesthetic. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Insuform 1 Tablet SR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
