If diarrhea occurs, your doctor may adjust your dosage or discontinue treatment if it persists. Additionally, long-term use of this medication may affect liver enzyme levels. Helpliv 300mg Tablet works by concentrating in the bile secreted from the liver, suppressing the synthesis and secretion of cholesterol by the liver, and reducing cholesterol levels in bile. It also prevents the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol, leading to reduced cholesterol saturation in bile and the gradual dissolution of cholesterol from gallstones. Furthermore, it reduces elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, protecting liver cells.
Yes, Helpliv 300mg Tablet may cause weight gain, although this is not a common side effect. Weight gain is more likely to occur in patients with liver disease associated with chronic stasis of bile in small bile ducts, where bile cannot flow from the liver to the small intestine. The likelihood of weight gain varies from person to person and depends on the underlying disease. Consult your doctor if you experience weight gain while taking Helpliv 300mg Tablet.
While taking Helpliv 300mg Tablet, avoid taking antacid preparations without consulting your doctor, as they may decrease the medication's effectiveness. Also, avoid taking cholestyramine or colestipol, as they can affect the medication's effectiveness. Ask your doctor about the recommended time gap between taking Helpliv 300mg Tablet and these medications. Additionally, avoid taking oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate, as they may increase the risk of developing gallstones and counteract the effects of Helpliv 300mg Tablet.
