Haycin MS Oral Suspension is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. Haycin MS Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.

No, do not combine Haycin MS Oral Suspension with cough and cold medicines. Some of its ingredients can interact with alcohol-containing cough syrups and lead to disulfiram reaction, resulting in nausea, vomiting, flushing, dizziness, etc.
What should I do if an accidental overdose occurs during Haycin MS Oral Suspension administration?
An extra dose of Haycin MS Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause serious harm. However, if you believe your child might have overdosed, seek immediate medical attention from a doctor. - Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.
- Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Haycin MS Oral Suspension on tongue) after taking Haycin MS Oral Suspension. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
- Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Haycin MS Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
- Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Haycin MS Oral Suspension treats only bacterial infections.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol while taking Haycin MS Oral Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Breastfeed
Haycin MS Oral Suspension is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Haycin MS Oral Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
