Grilinctus-LS Syrup is a combination medicine used in the treatment of cough with mucus. It thins mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, making it easier to cough out. Grilinctus-LS Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Grilinctus-LS Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin which relieves cough with mucus.
What is Grilinctus-LS Syrup?
Grilinctus-LS Syrup contains Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol/Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used to treat coughs with mucus. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic agent, thinning and loosening the mucus, making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and widens airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of mucus and helps remove it from the airways.
Is Grilinctus-LS Syrup safe to use?
Grilinctus-LS Syrup is generally safe for most patients. However, some may experience common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headaches, rash, urticaria, tremors, palpitations, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate. If you experience persistent problems while taking this medicine, inform your doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications for using Grilinctus-LS Syrup?
Grilinctus-LS Syrup is not recommended for patients with a history of allergies to any of its active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not be taken together.
Can the use of Grilinctus-LS Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Grilinctus-LS Syrup may cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady, or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, rest for a while and resume your activity only when you feel better. Do not drive or operate machinery.
Can the use of Grilinctus-LS Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Grilinctus-LS Syrup may trigger diarrhea in some patients. If experiencing diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids. If diarrhea persists and you notice signs of dehydration like reduced urine output with dark color and strong-smelling urine, consult your doctor.
What are the recommended storage conditions for Grilinctus-LS Syrup?
Store Grilinctus-LS Syrup in its original container, tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the packaging label regarding storage and disposal. Do not give this medicine to pets, children or others.
