Genogyl N Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat diarrhea and dysentery by preventing the growth of microorganisms. Genogyl N Syrup is a combination medicine that is used to treat diarrhea and dysentery. It prevents the growth of microorganisms to treat the infection.
Genogyl N Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics: Nalidixic Acid and Metronidazole. Nalidixic Acid works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing thereby killing the bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together they treat your infection effectively.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Genogyl N Syrup is to be taken with food.
Alcohol
Consuming alcohol while taking Genogyl N Syrup may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Breastfeed
Genogyl N Syrup should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body. If a single dose of Genogyl N Syrup is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Pregnancy
Genogyl N Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
