Flotral D Tablet is a combination of two medicines that work in different ways to treat men with an enlarged prostate gland, relieving symptoms such as difficulty urinating or needing to go to the toilet more often. Flotral D Tablet should be taken immediately after the same meal each day. Take it as a whole, do not break, chew, or crush them. Your doctor will prescribe the dose most suitable for you. To gain the most benefit and treat your symptoms effectively, you should not miss doses, even if you feel well. It may take up to 4 weeks to notice an improvement in symptoms, but keep taking them regularly. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks or if they get worse.
Flotral D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alfuzosin and Dutasteride, which relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Alfuzosin is an alpha-blocker, which works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, which helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone which helps the prostate gland grow.
Does Flotral D Tablet shrink the prostate?
No, Flotral D Tablet does not shrink the size of the prostate. It belongs to the alpha-blocker class of medicines and helps in relieving symptoms of an enlarged prostate by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and prostate to allow urine flow more easily.
Can Flotral D Tablet cause erectile dysfunction?
Flotral D Tablet does not directly cause erectile dysfunction. However, it may help improve existing conditions. However, this medicine can cause painful erections (priapism) which do not go away. If left untreated, priapism might result in difficulty getting an erection in the future.
When should I take Flotral D Tablet?
Flotral D Tablet should be taken after meals at the same time each day. Do not cut, crush or chew the medication; swallow it whole with water.
Does Flotral D Tablet have any effect on the liver?
In very rare cases, your liver may be affected and cause liver function abnormalities. Therefore, it is advisable to inform your doctor if you have pre-existing liver disease before starting this medication. Your doctor will prescribe a lower dose of Flotral D Tablet once or twice daily.
Can Flotral D Tablet be taken by old or elderly people?
Yes, it can be taken by elderly or older individuals but careful monitoring is required in case of pre-existing high blood pressure. Consulting your doctor before taking this medication is recommended.
Can Flotral D Tablet affect my eyes?

Extreme caution is necessary if you are taking Sildenafil or Vardenafil alongside Flotral D Tablet. Combining these medications may result in a significant decrease in blood pressure, which can be dangerous. Therefore, inform your doctor of any other medication including these.
What can patients do to help alleviate or prevent discomfort and side effects due to Flotral D Tablet?
Flotral D Tablet may lower your blood pressure, especially when you abruptly change positions from lying down. This may lead to dizziness or fainting. Therefore, it is essential to rise slowly from bed or a chair. It's important to be aware that this medication can impair reaction time in certain situations and hence avoid driving or hazardous activities until you are familiar with its effects.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Flotral D Tablet is to be taken with food.
- You have been prescribed Flotral D Tablet to relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
- Take it approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
- Flotral D Tablet may cause dizziness or blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
- Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
- If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Flotral D Tablet.
Alcohol
