Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is an iron replacement medicine used to treat iron-deficiency anemia by replenishing iron stores in the body. Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is given by slow infusion (drip) into a vein by your doctor or nurse. Your doctor will decide the dose you need and how many injections you should have to improve your anemia. It will also help to eat a well-balanced diet that has enough iron. Good sources of iron include pulses (dal), green leafy vegetables like spinach, beans, eggs, dry fruits, and non-vegetarian foods. The most common side effects include altered taste, hypertension (high blood pressure), nausea, and injection site reactions (such as pain, redness, and swelling). Some people may develop a temporary fall in blood pressure (hypotension) if this medicine is given too rapidly. Your doctor will also monitor you for signs of an allergic reaction such as breathlessness, dizziness, feeling uneasy, hives, swelling of face, tongue, and throat, etc. while this medicine is being given. If you are bothered by them or they go on for longer, talk to your doctor or nurse. You should not have this medicine if your anemia is not caused by a lack of iron. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have rheumatoid arthritis, asthma or other allergies, high blood pressure, or liver problems. This may affect your treatment. It is not known whether this medicine is safe for use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding so please take advice from your doctor. You will have tests to check your blood cells and iron levels, monitor your progress and check for side effects. It may be advisable to limit alcohol during treatment.
Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is an anti-anemic medication. It replenishes the iron stores in your body. Iron is vital for the formation of new red blood cells and hemoglobin, a substance that gives these cells the ability to transport oxygen.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
- Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is prescribed for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.
- It is given as a slow injection into veins or as drip under the supervision of a doctor.
- You may be asked for regular monitoring of iron level in blood while taking this medicine.
- It may cause dizziness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.
- Inform your doctor if you notice shortness of breath, swelling of face, low blood pressure, itching, or rash.
- Altered taste
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Nausea
- Injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling)
- Temporary fall in blood pressure (hypotension)
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ferochamp S 20mg Injection.
Breastfeed
Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Pregnancy
Ferochamp S 20mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
