Fentistat Vaginal Capsule is an antifungal medication used to treat vaginal fungal infections. It works by stopping the growth of fungus and killing fungi by destroying its cell membrane. Fentistat Vaginal Capsule is for external use only. It is used to treat vaginal fungal infections and should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night time for better results. Do not use the medicine for longer than your doctor has told you to and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment.

Is Fentistat Vaginal Capsule an antibiotic or a steroid?
No, Fentistat Vaginal Capsule is not an antibiotic nor a steroid. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It is used to treat candidiasis (thrush) occurring in the vulva and vagina.
Does Fentistat Vaginal Capsule have any effect on contraceptives?
Yes, Fentistat Vaginal Capsule can damage condoms and diaphragms (barrier method of contraception), thereby affecting their efficacy. Therefore, instead of using these, you can use alternative methods of contraception such as contraceptive pills.
How should Fentistat Vaginal Capsule be used?
Fentistat Vaginal Capsule should be used strictly as per the doctor’s advice. The usual dose of Fentistat Vaginal Capsule is one applicator full in the morning and one applicator full in the evening for 3 days. Your symptoms may disappear quickly, but it is important that you continue using the cream for 3 days. Consult your doctor in case you have any confusion regarding the medicine, if your condition worsens or if there is no improvement.
How to store Fentistat Vaginal Capsule?
Store Fentistat Vaginal Capsule at a temperature of 30°C or below. Keep in the original container and do not use the medicine after the expiry date shown on the outer packaging. Keep it out of reach and sight of children.
Can Fentistat Vaginal Capsule cause any problems?
Fentistat Vaginal Capsule can cause mild and transient rash or burning sensations in some people, which generally disappear quickly. Additionally, prolonged use may lead to allergies.
Will the use of Fentistat Vaginal Capsule affect my sex life?
Fentistat Vaginal Capsule does not affect sex life. However, do not have vaginal intercourse as long as you are using Fentistat Vaginal Capsule. Also, condoms and diaphragms may get damaged and may fail to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.
What should I do if the infection comes back?
Fentistat Vaginal Capsule can be used again if the candidal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the candidal infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor whether it is candidal infection or something else.
What precautions are necessary while using Fentistat Vaginal Capsule?
Do not start treatment with Fentistat Vaginal Capsule during menstruation as the cream will be washed off with blood flow. The treatment should be finished before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicides or other vaginal products while using Fentistat Vaginal Capsule.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash and dry your vaginal area. Lie on your back and gently insert the capsule into the vagina as high as possible with or without the use of an applicator as mentioned in the label.
