It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Fenoros 160mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Does Fenoros 160mg/5mg Tablet potentially cause liver damage?
Fenoros 160mg/5mg Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. A very rare (1 in 10,000 patients) side effect of this medication is liver damage. Use of this medicine should be avoided in patients with pre-existing liver disease. If you notice any early signs or symptoms of liver damage, such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes, contact your doctor immediately.
