Famol M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat fever, body ache as well as allergic symptoms associated with common cold like runny nose, cough, sneezing, and watery eyes. Also, it is one of the commonly used medicines in chickenpox for symptomatic relief.

Famol M Syrup contains two active ingredients: paracetamol and promethazine. These ingredients together relieve common cold symptoms. Promethazine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever.

Famol M Syrup should not be used in infants less than 2 years of age due to the potential risk of fatal respiratory depression.
Prolonged or excessive intake of Famol M Syrup can lead to serious side effects like bradycardia, decreased blood pressure, confusion, delirium, disorientation, dizziness, drowsiness, and hallucinations. Always follow the prescribed dose. Use the calibrated measuring cup provided with the medication for accurate dosing. Avoid using a kitchen teaspoon as it may not provide the correct dosage.
Famol M Syrup typically starts working within 30 to 60 minutes of administration and reaches its peak effect within 3 to 4 hours. Your child may start feeling better after a few doses. If pain or fever persists beyond the expected timeframe, consult your child's doctor immediately.
