Ezitoin Tablet is an antiepileptic medication used to treat and prevent epilepsy (seizures). It controls seizures by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. It is important to take this medicine regularly as directed by your doctor to prevent seizures.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ezitoin Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take your medication regularly as directed by your doctor as missing doses can trigger seizures. Do not change the brand of your medicine and make sure that you have sufficient amount of medicine present with you. Practice yoga every day. Get enough sleep at nighttime. Limit the use of screen time such as mobile/laptop. Take your medication on time. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. It may increase blood sugar levels. Inform your doctor if you are taking any medicines to treat diabetes. It may cause swollen gum (gum hypertrophy) hence take care of oral or dental hygiene. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may increase the seizure frequency.
Ezitoin Tablet typically stays in your body's system for 5-6 days on average. This duration may vary from person to person, with some experiencing it for up to 9-10 days.
Sudden cessation of Ezitoin Tablet can lead to the continuation of seizures (status epilepticus), which poses a serious risk to life. Do not discontinue your medication without consulting your doctor. If necessary, your healthcare provider will gradually reduce the dosage before completely discontinuing treatment.
Overdose of Ezitoin Tablet can manifest as jerky eye movements (nystagmus), slurred speech, loss of balance, tremors, muscle stiffness or weakness, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, fainting, blurred vision, slow and shallow breathing, and even coma. In severe cases, overdose may lead to low blood pressure and respiratory difficulties, increasing the risk of death.
Individuals with pre-existing liver disease, especially those who have experienced liver problems as a result of taking Ezitoin Tablet, should avoid it. Patients also on Delavirdine (a medication for HIV) are advised against taking Ezitoin Tablet due to potential interactions and the possibility of Delavirdine's effectiveness being reduced.
Ezitoin Tablet can be taken together with ibuprofen. There appears to be no significant drug-drug interaction between these two medications, but consulting your doctor is recommended for further clarification.
Common side effects in children taking Ezitoin Tablet include jerky eye movements (nystagmus) and overgrowth of gums. Other potential side effects range from problems with thinking or behavior, mood changes, slow or clumsy movements, or a loss of energy. When high doses are used, side effects can also include unsteady feet and hands, sleepiness, and vomiting. These effects can be minimized by gradually increasing the dosage.

Ezitoin Tablet can cause drowsiness (somnolence). You should speak to your healthcare provider if you experience extreme drowsiness after taking Ezitoin Tablet. This may warrant a temporary adjustment of driving or operating machinery until it's determined that your ability to safely perform these activities is not impacted.
