How it works

Endomal SP Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Artesunate, Sulphadoxine and Pyrimethamine which treat malaria. Artesunate and Pyrimethamine are antiparasitic medicines which work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading. Sulphadoxine is an antibiotic which stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.

Direction of use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Endomal SP Tablet is to be taken with food.

Tips

• Endomal SP Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of malaria.
• It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids and a healthy diet while taking the medicine.
• It may cause dizziness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how the medicine affects you.
• Endomal SP Tablet should be taken with food or drinks enriched with fat such as milk.
• Inform your doctor if you have anemia.
• Inform your doctor if you notice flu-like symptoms such as chills, fever, muscle pains, and any changes in a heartbeat.
• You may be asked for a regular blood test once a week while taking this medicine.
