Enaped Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure, and may be prescribed after a heart attack. It also lowers the chances of having a heart attack or stroke. Enaped Tablet can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines. It should be taken on an empty stomach. This medicine should be taken at the same time each day to get the most benefit. It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill but if you stop taking this medicine your condition could get worse. This is a widely used medicine and is considered safe for long-term use.
Enaped Tablet is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
What is the purpose and function of Enaped Tablet?
Enaped Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for blood to pass through them. This reduces the workload on the heart, lowers blood pressure, and decreases the risk of heart attack and stroke. It is also used for the treatment and prevention of congestive heart failure.
Does Enaped Tablet cause excessive urination or affect kidney function?
No, Enaped Tablet does not cause excessive urination (loss of water through urine). However, damage to the kidneys may occur when it is given with a diuretic (water pill) without proper caution. If you have severe heart failure or your kidneys are already affected, there is a risk of kidney failure. Timely and appropriate treatment can reverse the damage caused to kidneys.
Can Enaped Tablet affect liver function?
In rare cases, Enaped Tablet may cause yellowing of skin and eyes, loss of appetite, and an increase in liver enzymes, which can indicate considerable damage to the liver or even death. If you experience such symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
Is it safe to use Enaped Tablet with hydrochlorothiazide?
Be cautious when taking Enaped Tablet with hydrochlorothiazide as it can further decrease blood pressure and lead to symptoms of kidney failure, such as reduced urine output, swelling in legs, ankles, and feet from water retention. If you experience any issues, contact your doctor who may advise discontinuing or reducing the dose of hydrochlorothiazide.
Can I take Enaped Tablet with ibuprofen for arthritis?
Avoid taking ibuprofen and Enaped Tablet together as there is a risk of kidney damage. This combination may also reduce the effectiveness of Enaped Tablet. Consult your doctor for an alternative to ibuprofen.
How long does it take for Enaped Tablet to start working?
Enaped Tablet starts reducing blood pressure within few hours, but full benefits may take several weeks to be noticeable. If you're taking Enaped Tablet for heart failure, improvements may take a few weeks to months to feel better.
For how long do I need to take Enaped Tablet?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Enaped Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Enaped Tablet.
Breastfeed
Enaped Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Use of Enaped Tablet immediately after childbirth should be avoided.
Pregnancy
Enaped Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
