Electa 1000 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It's also vital for energy release from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folate).
You can acquire Vitamin B12 through various sources, such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Vegetarians or vegans may not obtain enough Vitamin B12 because it's naturally absent in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency is common in these groups.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells are larger than normal). It may also result in nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other potential symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Electa 1000 Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or a rash. Discontinue use immediately if you notice any rashes.
Electa 1000 Injection can be administered intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dose is 0.5 mg of the medicine, and it's typically administered three times weekly. After two months, 0.5 mg is given every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting at the same site each time. If there's intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different location.
