Durataf 25mg Tablet is used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It prevents the multiplication of viruses in human cells. Durataf 25mg Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Take it with food as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body. It is important to keep taking them until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop. Common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, nausea, joint pain, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Please consult your doctor if it persists for a longer duration. These are usually not serious but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely some people may experience a skin reaction or liver damage. Your doctor will closely monitor you for these in the initial period of treatment.

Does Durataf 25mg Tablet prevent transmission of HIV-1 and HBV to others?
Durataf 25mg Tablet may reduce the risk of passing HIV-1 to others, but the chance of transmitting the virus persists. However, in cases of HBV infection, Durataf 25mg Tablet has not been proven to reduce the risk of transferring the virus to others. Therefore, patients with both HIV-1 and HBV infections should practice safe sex and avoid sharing needles.

Alcohol

Breastfeed
Durataf 25mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
