What are the guidelines for using Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops in my child if they have ongoing nasal congestion?
To avoid potential complications, do not give Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops to your child for more than 10 consecutive days. Also, make sure not to stop the medicine suddenly as this can cause 'rebound congestion' in your child. Therefore, it is advised to follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
What should I do if I accidentally give my child too much Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops?
An overdose of Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops can be severe and cause symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, severely lowered body temperature, headache, low heart rate, high blood pressure, respiratory depression, coma, and convulsions. Children are more sensitive to toxicity than adults, so it is advised that you reach out to your child’s doctor immediately if this happens.
How should I use Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops in my child?
Before using Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops, ask your child to clear the nose by blowing gently. Ask your child to lay down and look up. Tilt their head back as far as comfortable, or if lying on a bed, keep their head over the side. Open the cap of the medicine container and without touching the nozzle to the nose, apply the medicine into each nostril. Ask your child to keep their head tilted back for a short time as this will allow the drops to spread throughout the nose. Replace the cap right after use. If the drop completely misses the nose, administer the drop again. If any part of the drop gets into the eye, do not administer the drop again. Repeat for the other nostril. Clean and dry the nozzle before replacing the cap right after use. To avoid the possible spread of infection, the bottle should only be used by one person.
When should I contact my child's doctor?
Call your child’s doctor if your child is experiencing symptoms such as insomnia, dizziness, tremor, irregular heartbeat, or elevated blood pressure after using Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops?
Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
How should my child sleep when they have a stuffy nose?
To help mucus drain out, make your child lie on their back with a pillow. Avoid having them sleep on their side as this can increase congestion in one or both nostrils.
Use Dolocold Junior Nasal Drops as directed by your doctor. Do not give more than the recommended dose as it can lead to side effects. Do not use it more than 3 times a day.
