Dayfil Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It relieves breathlessness and improves exercise capacity in men and women. Dayfil Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors. It may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal but it should be taken at a fixed time each day. The dose and how often you need to take it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. Follow the advice of your doctor. It is important to take this medicine regularly and for as long as you are advised even if you feel well. Missing doses may lead to the worsening of your condition.
Dayfil Tablet is a phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitor. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in your lungs thereby reducing the high blood pressure in the lungs. This allows your heart to work less to pump blood in your lungs.

Why does Dayfil Tablet lead to a decrease in blood pressure (hypotension)?
Dayfil Tablet has the property of relaxing the smooth muscle of blood vessels and widening them, which can cause a drop in blood pressure (hypotension). When used with blood pressure-lowering medications or nitrates, it can result in a severe drop in blood pressure, which could be fatal. Dayfil Tablet should not be taken if you are taking nitrates for chest pain or have a history of heart attack or stroke within the past 6 months.
Is Dayfil Tablet safe to use in patients with diabetes?

Can I take Dayfil Tablet as frequently as I want?
No, do not take Dayfil Tablet more than once a day. Taking more Dayfil Tablet than the recommended dose can result in an increase in side effects and their severity. These side effects include flushing, headache, muscle pain, stomach upset, allergic reactions, and vision changes such as blurred vision. Contact your healthcare provider if Dayfil Tablet does not help you achieve an erection or if your erection does not last long enough for sexual intercourse.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dayfil Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

- Stop taking Dayfil Tablet and immediately inform your doctor if you notice loss of vision in one or both eyes or sudden loss of hearing with ringing sensation in your ear.
- Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as that may lead to worsening of your symptoms.
- The most common side effects of this medicine include flushing, headache, upset stomach, muscle pain, inflammation of nasal lining, diarrhea, and inflammation of sinus.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Dayfil Tablet.
Breastfeed
Dayfil Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Use of Dayfil Tablet is not indicated in women.
Pregnancy
Dayfil Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
