Calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid
Daxflo MZS Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.
Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Daxflo MZS Syrup on tongue) after taking Daxflo MZS Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Daxflo MZS Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Daxflo MZS Syrup treats only bacterial infections. Discontinue Daxflo MZS Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Daxflo MZS Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
Inform your doctor if your child suffers from heart disease, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy to sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, or any genetic disorder involving blood vessels. This is necessary because there's a possibility that Daxflo MZS Syrup may exacerbate these conditions and lead to complications.
No, do not administer Daxflo MZS Syrup with cough and cold medicines. The active ingredients in this syrup can interact with certain ingredients in cough syrups, potentially triggering disulfiram reaction, leading to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, flushing, dizziness, etc.

If the condition does not improve despite the prescribed course of Daxflo MZS Syrup, it's essential to consult your child's doctor. They might prescribe a stronger antibiotic with better efficacy against the infection-causing bacteria and may even require an IV (intravenous) route injection in the hospital.
Daxflo MZS Syrup can interact with some other medications or substances. Ensure you disclose all medications your child is taking to your doctor before starting Daxflo MZS Syrup. Always consult your doctor regarding any new medicine administration for your child.
