Crade Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat loss of appetite. It is an effective appetite stimulant. Crade Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Crade Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate and sorbitol which revives appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent which removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol as a result of which cholesterol level is lowered. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.
Can Crade Syrup cause dryness in mouth?
Yes, Crade Syrup can cause dry mouth. If you experience dryness, drink plenty of water. Sip regularly throughout the day and keep a glass of water by your bed at night. You may also use lip balm if your lips are dry.
Can Crade Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Crade Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, rest for a while and resume only when feeling better. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your symptoms subside.
What is the recommended storage condition for Crade Syrup?
Store Crade Syrup in its original container or package, tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the label for proper storage and disposal of unused medication. It should not be consumed by pets, children, or others.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Crade Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
