Cortent N Cream is used to treat various types of skin infections. It minimizes symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling, and itching. It also prevents the growth of infection-causing microorganisms to promote faster healing of infections. Cortent N Cream is used to treat various types of skin infections. Cortent N Cream is a combination of two medicines: Clobetasol and Neomycin, which treat bacterial skin infections. Clobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
How to use Cortent N Cream?
Cortent N Cream should be used as advised by the doctor or as per the instructions on the label of the medicine. Apply a thin layer of Cortent N Cream as suggested to cover the affected areas. The dose would depend on the condition for which it is prescribed. Wash your hands after using Cortent N Cream, unless it is used for treating an infection of the hands. Avoid any contact with the eyes.
What are the precautions that need to be taken while using Cortent N Cream?
Avoid Cortent N Cream getting in the eyes. Do not apply a bandage or a dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the medicine and increase the risk of side effects. This medicine should only be used for the condition it is prescribed. Do not use it for any other condition without consulting your doctor. Do not give it to other people, even if their condition appears to be the same.
What would happen if I use a higher than the recommended dose of Cortent N Cream for long periods?
Cortent N Cream should be used only for the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Using it in higher doses and for longer periods can cause a change in the skin’s color or thinning or weakening of the skin. Veins under the skin become visible. If you experience an increased severity of your symptoms, please consult your doctor for reevaluation.
Can I stop using Cortent N Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop using Cortent N Cream and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
- Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if your skin problem has not improved after seven days of treatment.
- Do not apply it to broken skin and avoid getting it in your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
