Cofzar-LS Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat cough with mucus, thinning mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, and providing relief from runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Cofzar-LS Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.

What is Cofzar-LS Syrup?
Cofzar-LS Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used to treat coughs with phlegm (mucus). Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough up. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles and widens the airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of phlegm and helps remove it from the airways.
Is Cofzar-LS Syrup safe to use?
Cofzar-LS Syrup is generally safe for most patients. However, some side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headaches, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate may occur. If you experience any persistent problems while taking this medicine, inform your doctor immediately.
Are there any specific contraindications for using Cofzar-LS Syrup?
Cofzar-LS Syrup should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to any active or inactive ingredients. Combining Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol may not be recommended.
Can Cofzar-LS Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Cofzar-LS Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness, it's advisable to rest for a while and resume once feeling better. Do not drive or operate machinery.
Can Cofzar-LS Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Cofzar-LS Syrup can cause diarrhea. If you experience diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Consult your doctor if the diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration, such as decreased urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medication without consulting your doctor.
What are the recommended storage conditions for Cofzar-LS Syrup?
Store this medicine in its original container or packaging, tightly closed. Follow the storage instructions on the package label. Do not use expired medicines. Ensure that it is not consumed by pets, children, and other individuals.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Cofzar-LS Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Cofzar-LS Syrup may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
- If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking this medicine.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of thyroid or heart disease.
- Stop taking Cofzar-LS Syrup and inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache.
Alcohol
