Coffix Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough, providing relief by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain and thinning mucus in the nose and windpipe. Coffix Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Coffix Syrup is a combination of four medicines.
Can I take Coffix Syrup if I need to undergo surgery?
Consult your doctor before taking Coffix Syrup if you need to undergo surgery, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and sleepiness when given alongside anesthesia. Your doctor may advise you to stop taking this medicine 72 hours prior to the surgery.
Can I take Coffix Syrup with anti-depressant medicines?
It is not recommended to combine Coffix Syrup with any antidepressant medication. Such a combination may lead to unexpected side effects or drug interactions. It is advisable to wait at least 14 days after your last dose of antidepressants before taking Coffix Syrup.
Does Coffix Syrup make you sleepy?
Yes, Coffix Syrup can cause drowsiness and sleepiness. Avoid alcohol or other sedating medications, as these may increase drowsiness and impair alertness. Be extra cautious when driving or engaging in activities requiring full alertness until you understand the impact this medication has on you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Coffix Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
