Clotawin-MF Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding and menstrual pain. It prevents the breakdown of blood clots to control excessive bleeding during periods. You can take Clotawin-MF Tablet at any time of day with food but it is best to take it at the same time each day. It should be taken on first day of the periods to get the most benefit. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by the doctor and if you have missed a dose take it as soon as you remember. Remember to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Inform your doctor if you do not observe any change in periods even after 3 consecutive periods.
Clotawin-MF Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid. Tranexamic Acid is an anti-fibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of blood clots to control excessive bleeding during periods. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Clotawin-MF Tablet?
Clotawin-MF Tablet is not recommended for patients with severe kidney failure, active intravascular clotting (blood flow obstruction due to blood clots), or color vision disorders.
What is the recommended storage condition for Clotawin-MF Tablet?
Store this medicine in its original container or package, tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the package label regarding storage conditions. Dispose of any unused medication. Ensure it is not consumed by pets, children, or other people.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Clotawin-MF Tablet is to be taken with food.
- Clotawin-MF Tablet helps relieve menstrual pain and abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding.
- Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
- Take it on the first day of a heavy period. Taking it before or after will not have any benefit.
- Inform your doctor if there is no improvement in your bleeding after using this medicine for three consecutive menstrual periods.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney or liver disease.
- The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, stomach pain, headache, nasal congestion, sinus pain, sinus inflammation, rash, tiredness, and musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Clotawin-MF Tablet.
Breastfeed
Clotawin-MF Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Pregnancy
