Cedonex 1000 mg/500 mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefoperazone and Sulbactam. Cefoperazone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefoperazone against bacteria.
You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections even if they have developed resistance. Finish the prescribed course even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Cedonex 1000 mg/500 mg Injection may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Stop taking Cedonex 1000 mg/500 mg Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
Cedonex 1000 mg/500 mg Injection contains two active ingredients: Cefoperazone and Sulbactam. Cefoperazone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by interfering with the formation of their protective cell walls. Sulbactam acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, combating bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
Cedonex 1000 mg/500 mg Injection typically begins working immediately after administration. However, complete bacterial elimination and symptom resolution may require several days.
If you do not experience improvement after completing the entire course of treatment, consult your physician. Likewise, notify your healthcare provider immediately if your symptoms deteriorate while using this medication.
