Candiface 200 Capsule is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails. Candiface 200 Capsule should be taken in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed whole and can be taken with food. To get the most benefit, take this medicine at evenly spaced times and continue using it until your prescription is finished, even if your symptoms disappear after a few days. If you stop the treatment too early, the infection may return and if you miss doses, you can increase your risk of infections that are resistant to further treatment. Tell your doctor if the infection does not get better or if it gets worse.
Candiface 200 Capsule is an antifungal medication. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane. This treats your skin infection.
What is Candiface 200 Capsule used for?
Candiface 200 Capsule is a medication used to treat fungal infections caused by Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and Epidermophyton floccosum. Commonly, this medicine treats ringworm, foot infections, groin and buttock infections, persistent infections of fingernails and toenails, vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection), and candida infections of the mouth or throat in patients with lower disease resistance. Candiface 200 Capsule is also used for treatment of cryptococcal infection and infections caused by Histoplasma, Aspergillus, and Blastomyces.
For how long do I need to take Candiface 200 Capsule?
The duration of treatment depends on the type and site of infection, as well as your response to medication. If you are treating athlete's foot (a fungal infection), the dose may require 30 days of use. On the other hand, if you are taking Candiface 200 Capsule for candidal infections in the vagina, the dosage duration might be between 1 day and 3 days, depending on the prescribed dosage by your doctor.
I am taking Candiface 200 Capsule for nail infection but don't seem to see any improvement. Can I stop taking it?
No, you must not stop taking Candiface 200 Capsule without completing the entire course as this may not completely cure the fungal infection. It can take about 6-9 months for nail lesions to disappear as after medicine eliminates the fungus, new nails take several months to grow. Please do not worry if you don’t see any improvement during treatment.
Why has my doctor asked me to get blood tests done?
Your doctor is likely trying to monitor your liver function. Candiface 200 Capsule may cause serious liver damage, so if you develop loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, or abdominal pain while taking the medication, please inform your doctor immediately.
Can I take antacid and Candiface 200 Capsule together?
Candiface 200 Capsule can be utilized by the body if there is sufficient acid in the stomach. Medicines for heartburn, indigestion, or stomach ulcers neutralize the acid produced by the stomach. Therefore, take antacids or any such medicine about 2 hours after taking Candiface 200 Capsule. If you are taking antacids (medicines that stop the production of stomach acid), take Candiface 200 Capsule capsules with a drink of cola.
What is drug resistance? Is it possible to develop resistance to Candiface 200 Capsule?
Sometimes, fungi can modify themselves within the body, and the medicine no longer works. This is called drug resistance. Resistance to Candiface 200 Capsule has been reported with some candida species (krusei, glabrata, and tropicalis). Candiface 200 Capsule should not be used for infections caused by these species. Always take the complete course of Candiface 200 Capsule to avoid drug resistance.
I have been on alprazolam for quite some time. Is it okay if I start Candiface 200 Capsule now?
Yes, you can take both Alprazolam and Candiface 200 Capsule together. However, keep an eye on the side effects of Alprazolam like lightheadedness or drowsiness. If any side effects occur after taking Candiface 200 Capsule, consult your doctor. They might modify your alprazolam dosage.
My doctor prescribed Candiface 200 Capsule to me but not to my friend who had a similar fungal infection because she was on dofetilide. Why is it so?
Your doctor did not prescribe Candiface 200 Capsule to your friend because it interferes with the working of dofetilide. This interference can cause disturbed electrical activity of the heart, which can be harmful to the patient.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Candiface 200 Capsule is to be taken with food.
