Betasag-FL Tablet is a combination of two medicines that helps in preventing migraine. Betasag-FL Tablet should be taken on empty stomach but try to have it same time regularly at a fixed time preferably at night. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Lifestyle modifications like avoiding stress, smoking, and processed food items may help this medicine work better.
Betasag-FL Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Flunarizine which prevents migraine. Propranolol is a beta blocker and Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker. They work by stabilizing the reactive nerve cells and increasing the threshold to migraine activation. They also inhibit cortical spreading depression (CSD- electric waves that move across the brain and cause pain and inflammation).
What medical conditions make it unsafe to use Betasag-FL Tablet?
Betasag-FL Tablet is not suitable for patients with allergies to its ingredients or excipients. It should also be avoided in individuals with asthma, slow heart rate, abnormal heart rhythms, AV block, sick sinus syndrome, a history of depression, or Parkinson's disease.
How should I store and dispose of Betasag-FL Tablet?
Store Betasag-FL Tablet in its original container, tightly closed. Dispose of unused medicine properly to prevent accidental consumption by pets, children, or others.
Can I stop taking Betasag-FL Tablet once my symptoms improve?
Betasag-FL Tablet is used for migraine prevention. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor, as suddenly stopping can lead to a return of migraines or other cardiac issues.
Can I use Betasag-FL Tablet to treat an existing migraine headache?
No, Betasag-FL Tablet is only for preventing new episodes of migraine headaches. It does not relieve already started headaches.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Betasag-FL Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
