Azed-M 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Azed-M 1500mcg Injection provides vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system, and it also plays a role in energy release and using vitamin B11 (folic acid). It's crucial for proper bodily function.
Vitamin B12 is naturally found in certain foods, including meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may lack this nutrient as it's not typically present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is more prevalent in vegetarians and vegans.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an increase in the size of red blood cells). This condition may also lead to nerve problems like numbness or tingling in hands and feet. Other potential symptoms include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sore mouth or tongue.
Azed-M 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience minor side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. Discontinue use of the medicine if a rash develops.
Azed-M 1500mcg Injection can be administered intramuscularly or intravenously. The usual dose is 0.5 mg and is typically given three times a week for the initial treatment period. After two months, a maintenance dose of 0.5 mg is given every one to three months.
When injecting, try to avoid injecting in the same area repeatedly. If there's pain or backflow during injection, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
