Arbitel-H Tablet Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients helps prevent future heart attacks and strokes. Arbitel-H Tablet Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling the blood pressure effectively. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future.
Arbitel-H Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill). They work together to lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and helping the body to get rid of excess salt and water.
What should I avoid while taking Arbitel-H Tablet?
You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated, drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy so avoid driving, using machinery or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again.
What happens if I take too much of Arbitel-H Tablet?
If you accidentally take too much of Arbitel-H Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any such symptoms, contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.
Can I come off Arbitel-H Tablet when my blood pressure is under control or normal?
Remember, Arbitel-H Tablet does not cure your hypertension (high blood pressure) but helps normalize it. You should continue taking this medicine even if your blood pressure is controlled. If you stop taking Arbitel-H Tablet, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Generally, blood pressure-lowering medicines are to be taken for the rest of your life. It is important to know that by keeping your blood pressure controlled you are reducing your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.
What happens if I forget to take Arbitel-H Tablet?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you often forget doses, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. If not sure, consult your doctor for other ways to help you remember.
