Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR is used for the prevention and treatment of heart-related chest pain (angina) by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing blood supply to the heart. Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR is used to treat and prevent heart-related chest pain (angina). Angina occurs when the heart muscle is not getting enough blood. This medicine works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart.
Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR is a nitrate. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while reducing its work load, thereby preventing/treating attacks of angina (chest pain).
Can I take sildenafil if I am taking Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR?
No, you should not take sildenafil if you are taking Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR. Taking these two medicines together can cause an excessive fall in blood pressure, which may even be life-threatening.
What effect does Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR have on blood pressure?
Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR decreases the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels, but is not recommended for the treatment of high blood pressure. The drop in blood pressure may cause lightheadedness, especially when changing your position suddenly.
Does the effect of Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR wear off after some time?
Yes, excessive use of Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR may cause tolerance which means that Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR may lose its effectiveness on you. Therefore, usually the doctors prescribe the smallest dose required for effective relief of acute angina attack. This helps maintain the effectiveness of Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR.
What does too much Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR do?
Excess Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR may result in low blood pressure, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headache, weak and fast pulse. It may also cause weakness, lightheadedness on standing and the patient might even faint. The patient will require emergency medical treatment in such a case.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Alcohol
Consuming alcohol while taking Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Breastfeed
Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Pregnancy
Angiplat 2.5 Capsule TR is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
