Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet is a combination of three medicines (Sitagliptin, Glimepiride, and Metformin) used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps to control blood sugar levels and may prevent serious complications of diabetes. Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet is a combination medicine used to lower blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is generally used with diet, exercise, and other treatments when adequate glucose control is not achieved.
Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet combines three antidiabetic medications. Sitagliptin increases insulin release and decreases glucose release. Glimepiride increases the pancreas' insulin production. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves the body's response to insulin.
What is Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet used for in diabetes?
Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone or along with other blood sugar-lowering medicines aren't enough to control blood sugar. It helps lower blood sugar levels, improve insulin response, and reduce the risk of complications from long-term diabetes.
When should I take Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet?
Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet should be taken once or twice daily with meals, depending on your doctor's prescription. Taking the medicine with food reduces the chance of stomach upset and lowers the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Can I take Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet if I have kidney or liver issues?
No. Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet is not recommended for patients with severe kidney or liver impairment because of increased risk of side complications.
Are there any side effects of Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet?
The common side effects may include nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, or constipation, headache, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and weight gain. Severe side effects like difficulty breathing, chest pain, or signs of lactic acidosis should prompt immediate medical attention.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alsita GM 2Forte Tablet should be taken with or after food.
