AFM Tablet is a combination medicine used in the prevention of asthma. It relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. AFM Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
AFM Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Montelukast, Fexofenadine and Acebrophylline. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms of allergies. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
What should be avoided while taking AFM Tablet?
To ensure optimal effectiveness, avoid consuming AFM Tablet with fruit juices, such as orange or grapefruit juice. Additionally, refrain from drinking alcohol while taking this medication, as it may exacerbate drowsiness or sleepiness.
Can I stop AFM Tablet when my symptoms are relieved?
No, it is essential to continue taking AFM Tablet as directed by your doctor. If you experience any issues related to the use of this medication, inform your doctor promptly.
Can the use of AFM Tablet cause dizziness?
