Afdethro Cream is an antibiotic used to treat acne (pimples) and some bacterial skin infections. Afdethro Cream is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. In order to get the most benefit, apply it regularly and preferably at a fixed time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects. You may have to use it for a long time before your acne starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day.
Afdethro Cream is an antibiotic which stops the growth of acne-causing bacteria on the skin. It does so by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by these bacteria to carry out vital functions.
How should Afdethro Cream be applied?
To apply Afdethro Cream effectively, gently spread a thin layer onto a dry, clean face twice daily. Avoid rubbing the cream in to minimize irritation.
What is Afdethro Cream used for?
Afdethro Cream is a treatment for acne vulgaris (pimples or spots) and helps reduce bacteria growth that causes acne. It can also be used to treat skin infections.
What precautions need to be followed while applying Afdethro Cream?
When using Afdethro Cream, exercise caution by avoiding contact with the eyes, lips, nose lining, or broken skin. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Also, refrain from using products containing alcohol, irritants, or medicated soaps that may cause irritation or drying effects.
How long does it take for Afdethro Cream to work for acne?
The treatment of acne with Afdethro Cream typically takes several weeks or up to 12 weeks. If you do not see improvement at the end of the prescribed course, consult your doctor for further guidance.
If Afdethro Cream does not help me with acne, can I use clindamycin?
If you have already used Afdethro Cream and antibiotics like macrolides (including clindamycin), these treatments may not work due to drug resistance. In this case, the bacteria in your body has modified, making it resistant to treatment.
How should Afdethro Cream be stored?
Store Afdethro Cream in a cool dry place at temperatures below 25 degrees centigrade. Some preparations may contain alcohol, which is flammable and should be kept away from high temperatures.
What if I forget to apply Afdethro Cream?
To maintain the healing process, try not to miss an application of Afdethro Cream. If you have missed a dose, use the cream as soon as possible but allow a gap of about three hours before reapplying it.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
