Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet is used for the treatment of malaria in both children and adults. It contains two medicines both of which belong to a group of medicines called antimalarials. Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet works by killing the malaria-causing parasites thereby preventing further spread of the infection. It should be taken with food as this will help your body better absorb the medicine. Take it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose as this may have harmful effects on your body. Complete the full course of treatment to make sure the infection is treated completely.
Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Artemether and Lumefantrine which treats malaria. These medicines work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
How do I take Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet as directed by my doctor?
Take Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet with food, exactly as prescribed. The usual dosing regimen is twice a day with a meal for 3 days, or as directed. On the first day of treatment, take one dose with food followed by another dose 8 hours later. For the next 2 days, take one dose in the morning and one in the evening.
Is Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet safe for use during pregnancy?
No, Actizo 80mg/480mg Tablet is not recommended for women in their first trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of fetal loss.
